What to Paint – Face Painting Designs

It is common to be fascinated by the artistic skills displayed by the professional face painter you saw hard at work at a fundraiser! It is indeed thrilling to look at how easily the faces were turned into works of art .It is so inviting at times that you may also want to try your hand at face painting. In fact you may have purchased all the colors and the brushes you need and are ready to get started but you just don’t know what to paint! Don’t worry. There are enough resources that will help you to get started.

First thing to look for is a simple face painting design in a toddler’s painting book. The elementary coloring book will have very simple designs. You may have to use your imagination a little as the book will give little help in transforming it into a design for the face.

You can start practicing the simple designs on paper or on your hand but once you are sure that you can pull it off then try the same design on the face of the child. Don’t worry if it does not look like a professionals work, the child whose face has been painted would just be happy for the effort you are taking.

Another place to look for face painting designs is the books that are available exclusively for face painting. There are hundreds of books available which will give you different designs and ideas. They will also provide a detailed step by step guide to paint that design. All you have to do is to follow instructions.

If you open your eyes you will find that there are ideas for face painting everywhere you look. When you go online you will see ideas for designs everywhere as there are many face painting sites. Common designs are skull, pirate, monster, Spiderman, dog, bunny, butterfly and princess.

I recommend you learn 10-15 designs first and ensure you can paint them well. Once you feel happy with these designs you can go on to paint harder, more intricate designs. Practicing will ensure you perfect your skills but always have fun face painting.
